Lower control arm help
 

So I bought some new DJM 3" drop lower control arms to go along with my 3" drop coils that are already on there; but when they came in I read some of the paper work that came along with it and it said that the coil requirements for the control arms were either stock coils, or DJM 2" drop coils. So obviously I was pretty pissed because they never specified this. I'm just curious if this will for sure not work out if I try to install or if it wont make too much of a difference. Any help would be extremely helpful.

I would say it would physically fit, however your lowers will be on or very near the bump stops and you will have very limited suspension travel. I have called and spoke to the tech guy at DJM, not sure if he could tell his a** from a hole in the ground!

Also keep an eye on the upper ball joint angle. I haven't seen it and don't know how low you can get before the upper ball joint is too far off center. Supposedly swapping the upper arms to the other side changes the angle enough to work.

Just out of pure curiosity, why didn't you just go with a 3" drop spindle. Seems like a lot less trouble.

you need the extra inch due to you might be sitting on your inner fenders... if thats the case if your not that worried about them cut a notch out so that you will not hit them

To baclay9. The reason I didn't use spindles was because i heard you run more of a chance of rubbing your wheel wells with spindles then you do with lower control arms

Hey westofb. Did you end up using there lower control arms? If so how did it work out for you?

I'm running the DJM 3" control arms w/ 2" coils on my 79' blazer and only have about an inch of clearance between the bumpstop and cross member
so a 3" coil would be pushing it, you would most likely have to take out the inner fenders for clearance issues but my experience w/ the set up I'm running I'm very pleased with the handling and ride quality!

I have yet to change anything, still using stock 1/2 ton lower arms. It drives okay, but still have camber issues, will eventually replace the upper arms I think.....according to the so called experts, will help with the camber issues I am having.

My suspension is made up of mostly stock components, the only thing I changed was to cut one loop off the bottom of the stock 1/2 t coils and a set of aim industries ( airbagit) 2.5" lowering spindles. My truck was originally a 3/4 ton that I changed to half ton ( use search feature for "3/4 to 1/2 ton, what I did).
