Tire Size???

I'm looking at replacing all 4 tires on the 80 GMC C25 I just bought. The rear tires are the original "heavy duty" tires and are completely bald, and while the fronts are newer and useable, I'd like to have matching tires both front and back.

My questions are: What size tires would have come with the truck (the original tires on it don't seem to indicate size), and what size(s) would you guys recommend putting on it? This is eventually going to be a farm/work truck, so I'd like a set of beefier tires if possible. If you can post pics of your tire combos that'd be great, then I can actually see what different sizes look like.

BTW the rims are 16 inch.

Re: Tire Size???

The original tire size would have been either 7.5"-16" or 8.5"-16.5" Bias ply. My 84 came with 235-85-16 radials.

If you go to a good tire store they would roll out some tires to your truck so you can decide the size that you like.
