York style compressors???

Is there any one on here running a compressor off your motor. I'm just looking into takeing my truck off nitrogen, and looking at this style. My questions are. How big of a deal is the brackets? How reliable are they? I have a big block, and this truck is just a beater/driver, so I don't care about it being under my hood. Let's see who has them…

Thanks,
Justin

Re: York style compressors???

they are great compressors they pretty much are big boxes not to hard to mount there might already be a mount for your truck.. few things you will need.. leader hose water trap, fittings for the top of the compressor, air filter, clutch depending on how its mounted(if mounted near alternator you can use v belt pulley that goes on alt. i believer it is the York 209 that air lift use to use. much of this can be had on kilby Enterprises or on various web sites. there is a little bit of maintenance to them with checking oil and what not. they are great compressors put out a ton of air! i have them on all my trucks.

ive got a york 210 and 13 gallons on my 99 silverado (first air setup), and put 2 viair 480s and 8 gallons on my 86 dually(2nd), i will never put electric compressors on anything again the fill time is a joke and noise, since they have to constantly run, is ridiculous.

I have one for my 65 but un mounted yet but look at a 67-68 gmc with v8. My uncle has one on his and its factory. They are awsome for airride suspension. I just got finished with a friends cutlass(baggedout81)and he says it will fill a 5 gallon tank in about 60 seconds.

Thanks guys! Thanks for the pics. I'm still pretty sure this is what I want. Say I wanted to keep my nitrogen also, all I would have to do is run like a ball valve on the compressor line for when I use the bottle…right?

Thanks,
Justin

Man I don't really have a good reason. Maybe just cause it's allready there…I don't know. This was my first attempt at bags and there's alot i'd done different. Who knows maybe one of these days I'll hop it! Just kidding!
