1969 K10 4 speed rear drive shaft
I haven't had too many K10's of this vintage, and the one we currently have has a 2 piece rear drive shaft. It has a rockwell transfer case if that matters. I just thought it was weird for it to have a 2 piece shaft. Is this normal? I'm switching it to a 205 and it will get a 1 piece at that point.

Re: 1969 K10 4 speed rear drive shaft
my truck is a mutt, but it has a 2-pc rear DS. I swapped over to a NP205, and kept the 2-pc design. The DS shop I use said the OD was too small to be safe as a 1-pc, and I'd have to have a complete new DS built to go 1-pc.

Re: 1969 K10 4 speed rear drive shaft
I had never seen the 2pc shaft in a 4wd before I saw it on a mutt truck. Then, the same guy had one in a Suburban with the Rockwell.I`ve only seen them with that transmission.Of all the 67-72 4wds I`ve had I`ve never had a 2pc driveshaft.

I was like what the heck is that? I figured someone added this. Maybe it is a rockwell t case thing?

Re: 1969 K10 4 speed rear drive shaft
The '68 K20 I had was original 327, 4speed and Rockwell, and that had a 2 piece driveshaft.
My '69 K20 has a one piece... |

My 69 K20 is a 2 piece rear driveshaft also. Kept it that way went I swapped in the NP205.
