It's been so HOT since Thursday I didn't have any energy to do much this weekend. Went to the Saturday night cruise-in but left after 15 minutes, 93 degrees at 630 PM. We get some relief tomorrow, high of 78.

Did some landscaping, bought some steel, did some running around. If my parts get in, I will be making some major headway this week...

Nuttin chevy truck related.
It's been home improvement month/summer. I had a small flood in January and finally settled with the insurance company. I made it a shorter work week but I'm workin my A** of at home. The new tile for the kithen and dining area is done (400 SQFT). Put all the appliances back in along with a new dishwasher (that takes 3 hours to do the dishes?). Replaced the swamp cooler. Replaced the fan clutch on the Dakota (Now determined to be the radiator) Replaced the brake master cylinder on the Benz. But at least we can eat at home, take a shower in our own bathroom and we have a big improvement. The refridgerator is back in the kitchen!!!! I'm going to be working the next 3 weeks including weekends so the rest of the flooring in the house and the truck project are on the back burner. |

well just got back from a long day of truck work. Just yanked the motor and trans from my donor truck for my white 79lwb and then proceeded to cut the junk truck in half to make a trailer. Also salvaged parts off the parts truck.

Just kidding . The truck looks great . You need to bolt the TT2's on the Blazer for a photo op. I did a little work around the house . We painted the shutters , again ,this weekend . We painted them last weekend but the color came out different than she wanted so we made a change. I also painted one wall of our 4H animals project shed in a Texas flag pattern. It was the perfect size wall at 8x12 so the dimensions are perfect. Frank |

I got 80% done with carpeting the boat I'm doing for a friend of mine...I also got my dash finally put back together with a lot of new to me stuff...about a month ago, I restored the gauge cluster and the lens and all that, I also painted the inside of the cluster metallic silver and put new bulbs in, big difference...I also recently got a new to me ac heater control that's in NOS condition and I also got a gauge bezel that's in pretty fair condition...I'm going to be restoring it here when I can catch my breath...so now everything on my dash works like it's supposed to...now I just need to clean the interior tomorrow sometime...besides the little bit of work I did to the truck today, all I did was work on that dern boat...I hate bass boats, there's like a million compartments in the deck that have to be carpeted...
oh yeah, took the truck for a test drive after all the dash work and realized I forgot to hook up the speedometer cable....DOH! |

I spent Thursday night finishing up the welds rain gutters and bed rails. I moved my bumper closer to the bed. I drove 3 hrs down to Myrtle Beach early Saturday morning to begin rear Porterbuilt bag kit on my dads' 85. It was so much fun getting to work with him on his project.

Ordered some parts to fix the A/C in my 87' R10. Got a Smart VOV (variable orifice valve), which is supposed to improve idle A/C cooling without harming the performance at highway speeds. Also ordered a new accumulator, R134a fittings. Still debating whether to replace the condensor and compressor, since I'm not certain what shape they are in (system was discharged when I purchased the truck).

Re: What did you get done 6/7/10 short work week edition
It was a sad weekend for me as by beloved truck is no longer mine. I took it to the Goodguys show in Pleasanton and put it in the For Sale Corral. Within the first hour I had an offer we negotiated and a deal was struck. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to sell as the market for these trucks (at least around here) isn't so good. I was and still am in shock that the truck is gone. Now I am on the lookout for a 73-75 Suburban or Crewcab.

Re: What did you get done 6/7/10 short work week edition
I finished painting the front section of my 87 V2500 frame and inner surface of the front bumper. Also pressed in new bushings in the ends of the front sway bar, that took at least 3 hours as those bushings are a pain to get in.
It is not easy painting a frame with the engine in even with most of the parts out of the way and the engine mounts off but it came out pretty good. Now I can start bolting back the drivetrain but not until I install the new brake lines (easier with the engine mounts out). |
Re: What did you get done 6/7/10 short work week edition
I must also share that a deal I was working on I HAVE FOUND BUCKETS!!! I knew it would happen after I got my bench seat redone lol!
