Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
My son just picked up a '70 GMC and it's going to be needing some interior parts. I looked at buying one of those interior screw sets online, but can't quite bring myself to pay $25 for screws that might run me 2 bucks at the fastener place. The GMC has some parts missing, otherwise I would just take one of each up there. Thanks.

Thanks. |
Re: Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
I was able to pick up many of my factory correct bolts and nuts from NAPA. they had a few pages of actual nuts/bolts/fasteners shrink wrapped to a page in thier hardware book. give them a try.
also try ACE hardware. I buy all of my speciality fasteners there. |

LMCTrucks.com is a great source.
Or free from a pick 'n pull if that's kinda local... |
Re: Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
With the time in going to Napa, Lowe's, or pick a part to get screws. I'd think a sorted $25.00 bag of year specific interior fasteners is a good deal actually...
I'd shop all the vendors for price, and maybe get a discount on that bag of fasteners if you bought a large expensive part from the same shop. I dunno about you, but I'd much rather be working on my truck than driving all over the place in the hope of finding what you wanted to save a buck or to. |
Re: Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
I bought all my parts from Classic parts, they are far less expensive than LMC and many of the parts are superior. I have bought some parts from LMC when Classic Parts were out of stock, I ended up sending them back and waiting for Classic parts to get new stock. When I recently painted my truck I priced about 75 new parts I was going to order, I checked the prices between LMC and Classic parts, LMC wanted $950, Classic parts was $725. LMC does have a few parts that Classic Parts doesnt stock however.
I found it so much easier to just order the screw kit, saved a lot of time and frustration. |
Re: Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
I got these off ebay....stainless steel for $9 (15 shipped but cheaper than gas to go to 2-3 stores to buy hardware and not know if it's right...plus, if you bought stainless you'd be probably spending 50 or more plus gas....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-68...Q5fAccessories You are buying one (1) NEW screw kit. Re: Anone have the specs for the interior screws?
Thanks for the link. My plan was to just get 50 of each screw needed in Stainless from a fastener place that I do a lot of business with, but I think I'll just get a set here to start out with.
