Z-ing a frame (REAR)

Can you z the rear of the frame? What I am thinking is right behind the cab before the bed mounts. Then right in front of the rear bed mounts. I can draw up a sketch but just wondering if it can be done and any ideas on how.

Steel plate and gussets is what I was thinking. Sketch coming tomorrow.

Alternatively, if I have to step notch instead, what do I do with my crossmember?

Why did you relocate your axles? Correct me if I am wrong, but, if I move the entire sections that holds the bed mounts, crossmember, shock mounts and springs couldnt I keep the stock setup and still drop the hell out of the truck? The only geometry changing would be the axle. Right? The added c-notch is an awesome idea too, I like the combination.

Because even @ a 6-8" drop, the axle C/L shifts forward due to the geometry of the truck-arms. I just compensated for that & the additional drop allows for more travel/drop. I like the wheels centered or slightly to the rear on these trucks so I set it up w/some room for adjustment.
