Where do you stash your parts?

Well, I know a lot of us have projects here, myself included, and I was out in the garage getting some parts, and was wondering how people stored and organized their parts?

This is my Corner in the garage. It's actually crept out to be an entire bay, but I am working to get it back into the corner.

The corner. There's a set of blazer buckets, a blazer windshield frame cut in two, and a bonneville seat in the upper left, some boxes of parts and my camping gear on the left shelves. In the center is the rear seat, a 67/68 grill with no dings, a rusty blazer windshield frame, and on the right are some grey Rolls Royce aircraft parts boxes used for truck parts, a set of utility buckets under a side inner tool box, and some of my parts starting to get organized on the peg board. Above them in the rafters is the fenders, cowls, and grills

This is the peg board:

And where it's creeping. This is the motor and trans from the 70 suburban, and some parts from that, my new (used) tool box, and in the right foreground is some rust free Torsion boxes, and most of the floor from a Cali 2wd blazer that I had shipped east. Behind it is the NP 205 and 3 mor bonneville seats, and under the front is two blazer hatches and the sub drive shaft.

So where do you keep your parts and how organized are they?

Re: Where do you stash your parts?

Most of it is in my small garage, but I have some in one of those enclosed metal carports. So far nothing has creeped into the house, but the house is about 300 ft from the garage.

I have a parts truck parked near the garage.

Re: Where do you stash your parts?

So I am not the only one. I was told no parts in the house, with the exception of the basement, where I have a pile of wiring harnesses (Probably 10-20)

Also got my engine hoist and a complete GMC front clip sitting next to the garage.

Re: Where do you stash your parts?

Ive got parts in my bedroom, my office, garage, attic, sitting/ reading room, behind the house, grandfathers house, basicly all over the place. Oh and I'm also storing my friends 305 that came out of the 85 c10 he is working on. Been thinking about getting a mini storage to be able to keep all of the parts in.

Floor and loft of the garage. On the lift sits a cab. Side shed has a gas tank and hood. I have to put some of it in the bed of the truck so I can get it in for repairs. I need to get organized!!!

Re: Where do you stash your parts?

I had the master bedroom full and was filling up another bedroom, and some in the living room. I started redoing the bedrooms so I rented a 10x10 storage space, built shelves, set boxes on the framing, and hung stuff from the cieling. Its pretty amazing how much I was able to get in that space.

The garage has a MC, 66 chevelle and tools in it which pretty much fills the two car garage with some space to work.

I just bought another car so now my DD is in the street and I'm looking to get rid of one car.

Re: Where do you stash your parts?

Spare hood and cowl - resting against the side of the garage
NP203 range box and NP205 as well as heater and blower assembly - shed
Seats, glasspacks, other interior parts, wiring harnesses, etc.... - inside Suburban
Spare inner fenders, spare fender, floor and rocker patch panels - inside Blazer
New interior pieces, dash clusters, headliner, spare steering column, more wiring harnesses, new grille in box, spare Suburban seat - garage
Spare brake calipers and backing plates - storage unit #2
Transmission computer - bedroom

That's just the Chevy stuff I can think of off the top of my head. I've got plenty of Datsun stuff stored everywhere else too. At least I know where it all is though, well, for the most part.
