Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
lots of local stores carry them no need to pay shipping// my NAPA, pep boys and advanced autp all carry them if not in stock a 2day wait at most

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
I suggest you DO NOT buy polyurethane bushing. There are several companies including some of our Forum Vendors that sell poly-graphite bushing. The HUGE difference is that poly-graphite bushings are made of a graphite impregnated urethane. What this means to you is they firm and durable like polyurethane, but are self lubricated so they don't squeak. Fixed bushing such as body mounts aren't as critical, but any bushing that sees movement will eventually squeak like crazy if it's made from straight polyurethane.

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
some people are telling me to just save my money because ill never know the difference and get stock ones from NAPA or some similar place. will those squeak? or should I spend the extra money on aftermarket?

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
I say unless you are gonna road course the truck ( which you might) dont spend the extra, I put the regular old rubber bushings and such on mine and they are perfect for my needs, which is for everyday driving and cornering.

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
street driven trucks don't need polyurethane bushings ... like has already been noted, they add NOTHING but aggravation from noise/squeaks ...

Txfirefighter(forum member) replaced all his bushings with polyurethane and now he hates it. He actually said that he does not even like driving the truck now. I originally installed all poly in my arms, i replaced them all with rubber because of what txfirefighter said. Go rubber man... |
Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
okay, so to be clear the rubber ones are stock i can find at napa (any good places online??), and poly are more expensive like from energy suspension?

Like others have said, I would suggest stock rubber bushings unless you decide to drive the truck super hard. It will make your truck a lot more enjoyable to drive. |
Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
okay thanks

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
I drive on ploy bushing every day. perfectly fine, just remember to grease them if possible. I like poly because it takes out slop from the suspension and steering. If they make it poly I have it on my truck, CA bushings, motor mounts, sway bar mounts, trans mounts, leaf spring bushings etc. Much much much better than rubber.

Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
if one has slop in suspension or steering then he has a lot bigger problems than what material his bushings are made with ... just sayin'

Well now I'm even more confused haha. I was leaning towards just rubber ones but maybe polygraphite would be a better choice? I shouldve ordered these a week ago but I can't decide!

yea, brand new parts are going down in quality these days. |
Re: where/what bushings etc to buy
Generally speaking:
Poly=firm, less give, feel more vibrations, more squeeks, usually longer life. Regular greasing advisable. Poly w/graphite=same but less squeeks, not supposed to need greasing. New rubber=quiet, smooth |
