5.3 swap/ trans issues
Ok so in the doing my swap ive decided to not use the 60e and try and go with a 5spd, i beleive its the nv3500??..My buddy had one of those REGENCY GMC's back in like 04-05ish with a 4.8 and came with a 5spd...Thats what i kinda wanna have in my 73. My question is first, has anyone done this with something other than a T56 (to expensive for me) and does it have to be a 99+ 5spd to work with the 5.3?...Ive found alot of them coming from 95-96 trucks for a decent price but dont know if they would work. What would i need to get one of those older transmission to work with my current motor?
