Changing air cleaner and valve Covers on Smog truck

So My truck just passed smog for the first time since I've had it :D . I'm thinking I won't have to smog it for another 2 years and I just can't stand the air cleaner or the valve covers and was hoping to swap them out. How do I do this with out screwing anything up? I've got a pipe that goes from my valve cover to my air cleaner that would need to be remover and a few other hoses that go to the air cleaner. Let me know please and thank you.

Valve covers are no problem, since most applications I've seen allow for the installation of the PCV valve. The air cleaner is another matter. I use an aftermarket air cleaner, except when I smog my truck - then the stock set-up is reinstalled for the test. Makes life a whole lot easier.

That's my plan, Put everything back on when it comes time to smog. Do you have a picture of under your hood? I'd like to see it. Thanks

I have an edelbrock air cleaner and passed smog without a problem. Mine came with the adapter to connect the hose that comes out of the driver side valve cover.

remove air cleaner and snorkel tube, block vac. lines with a plug or screw and route them out of the way or sight, then install any reg. open element of your choice, and throw on some other valve covers and be done.
