Western Chassis Flip Kit retaining plate question

I'm installing the Western Chassis flip kit right now. I placed the flip bracket (u shaped looking piece), with the offset hole towards the front of the truck, as stated in the instructions and lowered the axle down. So far so good.

The bottom plates have a center hole, as well as an off-center hole. The instructions state "Install the new u-bolts over the top of the axle and the retaining plate onto the bottom of the spring pack. The offset center pin hole should be forward to match with the leaf spring center pin".

There is where I am confused. So does this mean the leaf spring center pin goes through the offset hole...... OR, does this mean it goes through the center hole, with the offset hole facing forward?

So far so good although the shackle bushing sleeves had to be shaved down to fit.

The spring pin will go thru the center hole on the bottom plate...IIRC. Either way, once you install the stuff it will make more sense and become obvious.

Hmm, I actually started out tightening it with the center hole and it just seemed so uneven, off to one side to much. I installed them, before I read your reply of course, in the offset hole which seemed to fit better.

I don't think it affects much, the u-shape bracket is what aligns the axle. With the retaining plate as it is now, all u-bolts are spaced evenly, as well as the plate. I did test drive it for quite a bit, seemed fine. I will post more details and pics about how the install went. I'll have to give those plates another look if they are indeed suppose to be in the center hole.
