IMO, it would make a super neat project if you are the persevering type. The parts situation is dicey, of course, but there is an owners' club which can help you with sourcing. If you do decide to go ahead with it, you will definitely be the only person on your block to have one.

Thanks guys, looking at pics of studebaker trucks on google it looks to be the same thing from what I can tell. Not sure whether or not I will persue this project but at least now I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks again

That would be an Studebaker M-5. They made that style from 41 to 47, some were titled as 48's
