Removing front brake lines????
Ok I tried looking in my chiltons and my haynes, and as usual they both suck. Im trying to remove my front brake lines, and they arent budging. They come off the caliper fine, but I cant get it off the frame. Tried it with a 4 sided wrench, wouldnt move. Got fed up thinking I just couldnt move it because of the angle, cut the line, and put a 6point socket on. Im putting so much force on that the truck is lifting up, so I must be missing somthing. I cant get to it from the inside of the frame, so what to do?

from my experience, the front hard-lines are secured to the inside frame-rail underneath the motor mounts and on the front of the frame...
hope this helps:cool: |
these lines can get "frozen" over time. have to remove nut from inside of frame rail. the "bolt" is actually a square fit on the frame.
this will remove the entire brake line from the frame. also, try using "Liquid Wrench". let it soak in and tap the metal a few times. Then try to remove the nut again. hope this helps! :bowtie: |
As stated, the brake line fits in a hole in the frame. It is held on by a nut from inside the frame. Remove the nut, and the line will fall out.
