donor frame?

has anyone used or has seen a frame from an astro van from the mid 90s under a 1951 ad swb 1/2 ton? if not would the rear end work? any input would be great.

I believe an Astro uses a unibody design.

Re: donor frame?

Astro vans have a sub-frame. Also the lower control arms are "bent", so the track width will fit under the fenders.

The subframe is pretty wide, and stubby near the engine. Only good for an Astro van. And lowering parts (spindles) aer getting harder to find.

The rearend is the same 10 bolt design as a truck but the center section is offset to the right to clear the Astro's gas tank.

The Flatout setup has a pretty good reputation if you want to go that way.

As far as driveshafts http://www.google.com/search?source=...=&oq=&gs_rfai=

If that doesn't suit you http://www.iedls.com/ in California. They will UPS a driveshaft anywhere.

i've talked to the guys from flat-out there great. i was thinking of the stock crossmember its a pretty beefy unit and was a bolt in on the vette. i was looking for pics if anyone has done it before.
