2:56 gears in a 10 bolt ? ? ?

Could you get 2:56 gears in a 10 bolt??? I have a rear end with those gears.
41 count on the ring, 16 count on the pinion. This rear end is in a 1980 1/2 ton.

Yes, absolutely; i have that gear in mine. i think this is one of the main reasons why i get 15.8 mpg with a "smogger" 350 engine.

You must live in an area with very flat lightly used roads. 2:56 gears where I'm from, would yield much worse mileage and performance than say a 3:73

I had a 98 Olsmobile once that had 2.43's. It was slow to get rolling, but once you got it moving it was a real highway machine.

We got 2.72's or 73's in the 84 c10 my dad had sitting in my yard, it sucks. It yields terrible mileage around here. That's why he just got some 3.90 gears for it.

I had 2.11's in the 85 monte carlo I had, it sucked but was awesome on the highway, idle at 65 pretty much.

My truck has 2.73s and my caprice has 2.41s and gets 26mpg on the highway without o/d.
