narrowed 9" rear worth?
Went to a swap meet today and found a guy with a home built looking S-10 frame. Had narrowed 9" rear, with big rubbers, a four link type set-up with coilovers. The frame was boxed in the rear, and overall looked like something I could use.
I'm looking for a general ball park dollar amount to offer the guy....He's asking 1800.00 OBO. The wheels were steel painted rally type, and the tires were all about 40% Thanks for the input A......... |
Re: narrowed 9" rear worth?
A picture would be a big help? Or more info. What is in the rear end? axles, carrier, posi unit , gear , pinion support. It sound way high to me and this is a buyers market. Their is not allot of toy money floating around. If it was a nice set of aluminum wheels and the rear had all the goodies he might be inline. If you want I can pm you my phone number and you can send me some cell phone pictures if you can't post here.

Re: narrowed 9" rear worth?
I did get a couple phone numbers from him...I'll dig up all the info I can and relay it to this post. He seems like he'd work with the price, so we'll see what he says about 1000.00?
Thanks A......... |
Re: narrowed 9" rear worth?
well it depends. If you buy a fter market housing that narrowed, has end plates and suspenionmounts it will cost you a grand plus.If the frame has had work done to stiffen it and its not crappy job I would say its not a bad price.I would charge that much to install the housing and four link in a truck/car what ever.Everone has to remeber that time and materails add up quick. The econoy has nothing to do with what something is worth. If you need it,can't do it your self and someone has what you need it can be worht quiet a bit.
