I just saw a '81-'87 Extended Cab, Long Bed, 4x4!

It was the real thing, I have never seen or heard of any '73-'87 Chevy/GMC truck with an Extended Cab. It wasn't a 2 door conversion from a 4 door, it was the real thing. And the beauty part is it was a long bed, 4x4! Ho many of these were built? Have you ever seen one?

Thanks,
Erik

Hmmmm well they aren't really common here but I see some every day without looking for them. Sure wouldn't want to have to park those things in some places but they sure look cool. Happy Trucking. CoryM

Sorry guys I mean its a 2 door ex-cab. I messed up and said a 4-door conversion, I guess I wasn't thinking. I guarantee you don't see these things very often. Really is a cool looking truck. I will go and fix the original post, make it say what I really mean.

p.s. By the way it was a 3/4 ton.

Thanks,
Erik

when I went back to Texas once ,to visit , I was looking at an early 80,s magazine and saw an ad from a company called Southern Coach, .As many times as i have ben back to Texas I have yet to see one. I wish I had kept that ad from the Mag. I would love to find one . The logging community in Oregon/Washington type area and Airport suppliers made up some unique rigs also . I have a pic of a 71? FACTORY ex-cab 2 door , Very cool!.Made for a loggers. DAVE

the grounds crew here at my school (University of Missouri) has one - long bed, 2-door extended cab, government green paint. I rode around in it for a day a couple years back when I had to do community service...

A guy I know here built one from a 77 shortbox. The first time I saw it I swore that there was no way it wasn't a factory truck. It is easily the best Ex-cab conversion I have ever seen. I will try to talk him into letting me take some pics of it to post. He may actually drive it now that the weather is nice, but I don't think it's seen daylite for at least 3 years.

Go to www.classicalgasstation.com and click on the Chevy section. There is an 85 conversion for sale there. Cool and cheap. Somebody buy it!!!!
