2wd Frame Question
 

Can anyone tell me if a 2wd Blazer frame is the same as a 2wd shortbed pickup? The reason I ask (clueless about blazers) is my wife has informed me that I am getting her a 1970 Blazer because she saw one here in town and thinks that she would look hot with the top off cruising around, which is very true. However she thinks those lifted up tall ones look stupid haha. No luck finding affordable 2wd options, is it possible to drop an originally 4x4 blazer down on a 2wd c10 shortbed frame and call it good? I know there is some difference in motor placement but if its a rolling chassis with drivetrain it should be good right?

1st: chicks cruising around topless is almost always hot :ito:, 2nd: get a 4wd blazer, flip the leafs, get a 72 - 86(?) front crossmember from a chevy truck, and poof, 2 wd blazer

Already have a spare crossmember from an 85 so thats a plus. Need to swap the trans/driveline out and move the engine forward some right? I found an article in a magazine about it just a few minutes ago...

My wife knows how to ask for things hahah she usually gets what she wants

Also I think i finally dug up specs and the SWB truck is still like 11 inches longer in the frame than a 2wd blazer would be

The Blazer is shorter than the shortbed PU. It is much easier to convert a 4wd to a 2wd than to shorten a shortbed frame to fit. You can do a simple leaf flip like Soon mentioned or you can install trailing arms, but it takes a bit more fabrication.
