CD Player options for a bumpy ride

I just got some cash for my b-day to buy a new CD player for my truck. Currently I have a cassette deck.

Question is, my truck rides pretty rough 'cause the suspension is so stiff. I'm afraid the CD will skip w/ every bump I hit on the road. Do any of you have a CD player that spins true thru the bumps? Of course, I don't expect precision on the trail, but for the normal roads and freeway driving, what'll work w/out skipping?

Looking in the $150 - $200 range, CD-R/RW compatable, MP3 maybe, no changer, nuthin' real fancy, just the dash unit (dash is already cut for a DIN).

Thanks...

This isn't quite the same thing as your truck, but I had a Pioneer CD player in my Oldsmobile. The roads are pretty bad by where I live, and the only time I ever remember it skipping was when some @$$hole with no insurance who was driving on an expired AND suspended license in a Dodge Ram rearended me at 40+ mph (totaling my car). The CD player popped out of the dashboard and hit my leg, slammed into the floor, and ripped the wiring harness out of the dash. I think it is the DEH-P4400 ? and it cost me a hair under $200 I think. No MP3, but did have CD-R/RW and a remote control, plus a rotary volume knob (I personally like it better than the buttons). Whenever I have time, I am going to put this in my 69 K2500. Alot of my friends have had similarly good results with Pioneer units in their vehicles. Hope this helps.

I'm with 1969 GMC on this one. I have a Pioneer CD player in my 69 Chev and I off-road with my truck quite often and it has never skipped. I'm very impressed with it , I've tried my hardest to try and make it skip but it never did. So if I were you I'd go for the Pioneer.

Again, i'm gonna have to say Pioneer. I had the same pioneer cd player for probably 4 years. A lot of people upgrade after that long, but there's not a thing wrong with it, so why bother, right?

I had it in my jeep that was lifted 3 inches. It maybe skipped 3 times in 3 years!! that's even listening to it in the trails! Now it's in my 71 4x4 and hasn't skipped yet..and it rides like a tank :D

I'm no expert, but i've been nothing but happy with my deck
