My GMC
I bought this truck last october. It used to belong to my sisters boyfriend for 4 years or so. The owner before him did a restoration on it, painted it blue instead of the 2 tone brown, cleaned up a bunch of stuff, swapped in a rebuilt small block 400, changed the interior colour aswell. Me being a painter myself I would say the work is good, no tape lines, I couldnt find any brown apart from a little bit under the dashboard. Once my sisters boyfriend owned it, the rear diff blew so he had that rebuilt along with the front one and the transfer case aswell. After driving it for about 4 years he sold it to his friends brother, who then owned it for 6 years but had only driven it for 2. Thats when I came along.
The truck was getting a little rough, the carb was fairly seized up, the choke didnt work, a lot of the levers on the carb didnt quite like to move, a few electrical problems existed aswell, if the lights where turned on the radio would lose power and then come back on as well as other things. The rear left leafspring was cracked, the radio didnt work and much more. The reason I wanted this truck was because I always had liked it and need a winter vehicle as I didnt want to drive my Jetta in the winter. So I went and bought the truck for 2500 Canadian. Drove it home and got to work. I cleaned up all the grounds and lubed up the carb real good and cleaned it really well as it had been beat on in the bush fairly hard. I also needed to do the front pads. I swapped in a different radio and replaced all the gauge cluster bulbs and just about every other bulb on the truck. Did an oil change. The truck still needs more work and will always need more work just like any project, its never done. Things in the works this month: - New headers as the old ones are rusted out - Lift kit w/ 4 new leafs - Cut Polish - Tires 33's or 35's as the old tires are completely bald. - Power wash the carpet - Carb rebuild (any links or guides?) Anyways onto the pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...07790small.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC08058-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC08061-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC08062-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC08064-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...DSC08065-1.jpg One of the Jetta. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v306/dzlboy/28.jpg Its about an inch off the ground up front, I won first place at local show in my category aswell as best paint. |

Re: My GMC
ok what's up with the front bumper? I see it's a 73-80 while the front clip is 81-87 and so it the dash and door panels. I was thinking front clip changed to newer style but not with the interior unless it was too? Be easier to switch bumpers so is that what was done? Somebody just put an older bumper on it?
