2008 gmc lift kit.

i just got a new to me 2008 gmc 1500 4x4. i love the truck but it sits to low. i dont have alot of money as i sent everything on the turck. i see in you can buy a 3" block that goes on the top of the front strut. so i was thinking a 3" block in the front and 4" block in the rear as it has a 1" already in the rear. i will remove that and replaced it with a 4" block. my question is has anyone done this and did it work out ok i will have to do a wheel alignment no big deal i am a gm tech. i just wont to make sure the angles will work i dont have extra money to put tires on it every month. any pic of this lift would also be helpfull. thx to all.

i dont have any pics, but i put a 2 inch block on a 09 at work last year. its a pretty easy swap and drives great afterwards. i think we put something like 315/75/18s on it. we didnt put any lift in the back, which made it sit fairly level
