Learned a lot Today!

 Went to visit "BigOrange" Donnie at his shop. I picked his brain and the man is a fountain of knowledge and experience. Thanks publicly, Donnie for the help. Now I need to find a driver's side window regulator. Who is a good source? Donnie had a good passenger side, but I need the other. Thanks again and I must say, I'm impressed with the traffic on this board. As soon as she gives me my next allowance, I'm going to sign in for real.
Great board, am learning a lot! Gunked the motor and found chrome parts and an old Edelbrock 2101. What a surprise. It ran fine and shifts well. Looks like so PO had done a mild upgrade with pretty decent parts. As we say, It"ll klean-up pretty well. Still a 50 footer, but slowly (too hot), but surely.

those lazyman rubber fuel lines cause good big fires

They will be attended too. Higher priority is the wiring, Several PO's patches on top of patches, tin-foil in the fuse block. Gotta' fix that mess pretty quick, too.
.
Does anyone make a dropped spindle that retains the front drum brakes ('70)?

Re: Learned a lot Today!

Dropped spindles utilize disc brakes. Why would you want to retain drums?

$$$$$$$$$$

I'm all about saving $$$$. But brakes and steering are not where to cut costs. Front discs will make an ENORMOUS improvement in stopping power.

Yeah, you can get the 6 lug dropped spindles with disk brakes. I don't know if they even make drum brake dropped spindles for our trucks, but you probably would be better off with dropped springs.

If you wanted to lower the front without changing the brakes..... up to 3" you're fine with just springs. If you wanted to go lower, you can always get lower control arms with a 2-3" drop built into them also.
