Axles from a dodge military 4x4?

Hi all, I've been looking around for 3/4 ton drivetrain stuff to replace the 10 bolts on my truck and I came across an ad for an 84 dodge ram charger military 4x4 "has 9 1/4 rear POSI and dana 40 front POSI" I dont know a heck of alot about dodge trucks but would it be feasable to use these axles in a fullsize chevy 4x4? and are they any good?

That Dodge front axle will be a Dana 44 and most likely not a LSD, unless someone added it later. Also, I don't trust the 9.250" stopsign rear farther than I could throw them.

Dana44/14bff are easy to find on your local Craigslist.

First thing you need to know, it's not a "Posi", it's a "Sure Grip"....don't use those bad words when referring to a Mopar...

They're very strong. I have a 9 1/4 SG rear in a '73 Charger with a 440 and roughly 550HP-530ft/lbs of torque. I haven't broke it yet. Any of the Chrysler rear axles like the 8 3/4 and 9 1/4 are stout. The Dana 60 would be the best to snag but it's not Chrysler specific, they jut used alot of them.

ya thats not a bad set of axles so if they're cheaper or you know them to be better maintained then go for it.

just keep in mind that your brakes/some steering/ ball joints will now match dodge not chevy so when you replace them they're more likely to be a "order in" part then chevy which is typically "in stock" just my .02

Thanks everyone for your input! I also found a 12bolt rearend and matching front from a guy that was parting out an old blazer I have a with him for both axles and an SM465 he had for 440$ ..Yeah I would rather keep the truck all GM, pretty well every parts store here knows my truck and has it in their computer! ... and I knew I'd get hounded for the slang LSD terms.. sorry im a GM guy and thats his quote not mine! (woops) ;) For some reason Its super hard to find 3/4 axles or even 3/4 ton parts trucks around here.. A guy up near Toronto had a D60 and 14ff from a 76 'burb but they were for full time
4x4... I'm keepin my eyes open..
