Front sway bar
83 2wd C10
I am transferring my truck onto a new frame. The new frame doesn't have the brakets that are on the bottom of the frame that the sway bar bushings bolt to. The brakets that are on my old frame are bent. My question is, can I bolt the sway bar bushings straight to the frame or are these brakets neccessary? Not sure if this makes any difference but the front of my truck will be lowered 5" via 2 1/2" springs and 2 1/2" spindles. |
Re: Front sway bar
you can bolt the bushing clamps straight to the frame, as long as your going to be low and it sounds like you are. No worries.

Re: Front sway bar
Yes, they can be bolted directly to the frame. Early Classic Enterprises makes a flat bracket for lowered applications that might be better though. I would try it first to see if there is any indication of binding. If there is, then buy the E.C.E plates.
