Looks like 70cstjr and I will be picking up the Circuit Rider this coming Saturday. It has been 2 years and 7 months since we loaded her up and she was hauled away.

Great new DeWayne!!! It has been a long time coming. A lot longer than the 3 years that you bring up in this post. I have known you for 10 years and you have wanted this for every bit of that. I know what it means to you and am happy to have been a part of it. Congradulations, you deserve it. WES

Thanks WES...I have owned the Circuit Rider for a while but it took some time to collect parts that were needed plus saving some $$$ so it could be done.

You tease. :P

This reminds me of the commercials for the new model cars that were coming out back in the 60's... They would give you a tease weeks in advance before the big day hit and they were brought out onto the dealers floor.

Re: Update The Circuit Rider is......Finished NOT!

70cstjr and I went to pick up the Circuit Rider this afternoon. We were to meet at 7pm but it was past 8pm before Curt showed up. He got be hand on a few details which does happen. Curt mentioned the front springs seemed to ride a bit low but if I drove safely all should be well. Well....70cstjr took the keys and headed home and got about 2 miles when we hit a small bump and sap...the tire hit the inside fender scarying the Heck out of me. This was not going to work. So we turned around and went back. We decided that I will need to order a new front set of springs so it rides about two inches higher and they need to be a little stiffer.

Also...
a) I need to get a new Kick Down switch for the 400 automatic-I assume these are readily avaliable.
b) I need to order the black plastic door lock knobs for the doors.
c) The turn signal switch in the steering colum is bad.
d) The front windows leak a little so they need to be resealed.

Otherwise we will pick her up for the Mid Ohio Truck meet Friday. Oh yes...te 402 sings like a BB should!! :metal:

I guess if I can't drive it you all can't see it. If all goes well pics will be forth coming after the Mid Ohio Meet. Thats assuming I get to pick up the truck Friday afternoon. This is starting to playout like a soap opera. :uhmk:

All should be good for the meet. I will need to order a set of new front springs and the other items and get them to Curt by Wed. and he will get everything installed by Friday early afternoon. We will pick up the Circuit Rider Fri. and get up to Springfield Fri. late afternoon. As we have said: "Close, very close." :metal:

The only decision is which type springs? I have the 2 1/2: Spindle Drop so I will need to go with 1" or 2" drop springs or even stay with factory height springs. As stated the tire is only about an inch from the fender so when I hit a bump it rubs the inside fender area.

What springs are in it now?

Way back when... I purchased from ECE a 2"/4" frop kit which included springs and a set of 2 1/2" drop spindles. The front springs have 7 turns and it looks like I need to raise the front by about 2". I am running 16x8 tires on all corners.

So maybe what I need are stock front springs. Your thoughts?
