a little advice please...

ive been working on my build for a little over a year now and i need some more advice.....with wheels and the floor pan. just look at my build thread for pics. my question is what is the offset for the rear and the front? or a median offset so i can rotate the tires at mileage intervals? its a 68 short bed with 71 suspension (5 lug). please someone give me a direction....i would like to go with 18" wheels btw...

Can I use that offset all the way around? Or will it look like crap?

Only a 2/4 drop

I like running a narrower wheel up front.
8's with 9.5's,... or 8.5's with 10's.
You really need to play with the backspace number to make it look right in my opinion.
With 17" or larger diameter rims you can use a 5"-5.5" BS up front.
Just remember the BS numbers are in direct relationship to the rim width.
4.5" BS might be fine on a 8" wide rim,... but won't work an a 12" wide rim.

The track width of the front is wider than the rear axle, so for me,... running the same size rim all the way around doesn't look right.
Just my opinion,...

I'm looking at a set of 17 inch wheels 8" wide 4.5 backspace up front, 9.5" 5.5 backspace in the rear. I'm doing a 4/6 drop front disc brake conversion and 72 rear end. This is all on my 70 LWB.

Will this backspace look alright and fit? In my mind it seems like it should be what I want. And going to get 255/50/17 in front 275/50/17 in the rear.

My blazer has the wider 71-72 rearend, and I had 17x8's with 5" BS and 17x9.5's with a 4.5" BS. To me that was perfect.
