Shortbed fleetside floor liner

Hey guys, so i just found a fleetside shortbed for $800. The body is pretty straight has a minor dent in one of the corners and the only major thing is the floor pan by the tail gate has two big cancer spots.

What would be my option to have this fixed ? Buy the complete floor pan for the bed ? Can that specific part be cut out and re welded and still look original ? I just want to know if its a good deal for this price. Thanks.

I was thinking maybe buying a long bed floor pan , and only cutting the rear end of it , and it will still fit perfectly when cut out for a shortbed ?

It might fit, or if you're good at patching, you might be able to weld a piece in from another truck - post a couple pictures and let's see your truck - and welcome to the boards!

Thanks!

Ive yet to take pics of the truck, but its a 68 Chevy shortbed originally with a stepside, but sold the step side and desperately looking for a fleetside :metal: .

What do you guys think of the price ? $800 with about 3 inch cancer holes only on the bed floor and a minor dent in a corner.
