Re: headers for 305E engine

I looked into getting headers built for my '67 GMC 305 and the only people willing to do it was Sanderson in the Silicone Valley/Bay area. Their work looked great, but they were by no means cheap. I chose to split the exhaust into duels and ran the stock manifolds.

Re: headers for 305E engine

I would call the thunder v 12 link, and buy some header flanges from them, then go to speedway motors.com ,an order one of thier header bends kits, and you should be able to make a set.

unfortunately there is no cheap way to build headers... my model t had a pontiac 400, scored a set of junk headers to cut up for flanges on ebay for $90, then went to an exhaust shop to have 8 pipes bent (drag style, they were) for $80...
so there was $170 spent real quick....

Re: headers for 305E engine

not much to be gained with headers on this engine, especially for the $ and time spent. just tap into the existing cross-over pipe, run the new 2nd pipe, add some mellow glass packs. Still some fabbing to be done but nothing like building a set of headers. Did this on my second car (55 Pontiac) and it sounded great ('course that was on a v-8), tapping into the crossover blends the sound pulses just like the aftermarket crossover and X pipe kits.
