dash pad removal

Alright guys pretty new to this body style of truck, been into 67-72 for a bit to long. I just recently got a 86 4x4 and am gettin ready to order a new dash pad for it seeing as mine is all cracked.

What all is involved in removing the old one? any write ups on it anywhere?

thanks

Remove dash cluster bezel, then simply remove the screws along the bottom of the pad on the passenger side...lift up slightly on the pad and pull out. Simple as that.

There may also be a screw at each end (if you open the door and look at the end that butts up to the door), perhaps only on the passenger side. It has been awhile since I have looked at my 82.

It also has clips along the windsheild, so you will have to gently pull it towards you and up when taking it out. A bit of advice, order a $100 cap, unless you want to spend big $$$ on a good one. I bought a cheapo, and wish I had just got a cap. If I could do it all over again, I would have just looked into having the original recovered with vinyl.
