Graduation Present, One Bad Mudder

Hey fellas, I got a 65 Longbed with a 327 4 speed. I got it from my bro for my graduation present. Its pretty unique, 2wd with a lift :). Anyways, aside from the previous owners shotty craftsmenship I think I've got alot to work with.

I'm wanting to put mid 70s-80s axles under it with 4:11 gears, probably a little bit lower, Married transfer case. 6 inch lift or higher, and run with 38s.

Engine wise, I'm planning on building a 377, with hopefully 425hp at 5 grand or so. Really haven't thought this part out yet, I'll probably throw in this 305 I got here at the shop as a mule motor.

Any of you guys got any gearing ratios yall think are good, axles to look out for?

I'm more of a hot rodder than a mudder. Well, I haven't went mudding in any chevys yet, I drive my buddies 78' Bronco on 36s, while he drives his Samurai on 38s

I'd rebuild the 327. I'd suggest a 205 tcase, dana 44 front, 14 bolt rear. Talk to Kurt at DIY4X to help with the front axle setup. For gears it all depend on your transmission. Looks like a good foundation for a build. Good Luck
