Carlisle Truck Show pics

For those not lucky enough to live close by... here's some pics from the gigantoid Carlisle Truck show. It was a good show with a decent swap meet (some guy had a 66 chev truck dash-mount clock, original, new, in the box for a mere $500. I bought two. Just kidding - he's had it for 30 years, and at that price, he'll probably have it for 30 more). Show was trucks only. Have to say that our trucks seem to be getting more rare each year... Had to wade through hundreds of new mini-trucks or huge 4x4's - all newer than the mid-90's - just to find anything pre-1972. I wish there had been a few more 60-66's, but still worth the 6 hour round trip drive (I think...) Anyhooo, here's some pics. Wish you all coulda been there. (it'll take a few entries to insert all the pics)

and a few more. if interested, the sheet metal in the last 2 pics was incredible - and Steve is always at Carlisle. Out of New York with an apparently endless stash of Arizona sheet metal. Number is 585-314-7907. Not advertising for him - but have bought a few pieces from him and he's always in Carlisle and has a great selection if you need something for pretty much any year chev truck. Honest guy. Oh yeah - the CRUSTY 65 in the 2nd picture was incredible - loaded, full original gauges and tach, you name it - and not for sale - but always had a big crowd around it. Nice truck.

The Mack B sure is immaculate looking. I notice on the crusty 65 it even has the stock offset mirror head. I like the 59/60 hubcaps on it too. Thanks for sharing the photos.

you're welcome.

What are those caps from? I thought they were vette caps because they had little crossed flags on them.... just wondering - I really like them too.

I think they are 62 vette dog dish caps, but not sure - here's a pic. That's not a bad idea - those look really good on that 65.

The hubcap in the photo above is a 1960. The 1959 version is almost identical, but the outer rim face is flat. It does not have the raised ribs arounds the circumference, so it is much more easily damaged by careless installation. These were used on both passenger cars and Corvettes, but not often on the Vettes as they were usually fitted with wheel covers. Here's a picture of a 59 cap for comparison:

Excellent Markeb, thanks very much! I really like these caps - all the years, but good to know the difference between the years in case I start hunting for some...
