That looks good. Maybe I'll have to do that with mine. Does anyone else notice the third truck in the pic? That thing must be HUGE.

hmmmm......just seems like that truck would look soooooo much cleaner without them.

Granted.....Imma dude that had his motor hanging out the hood. Pretty subtle.

Not very practical on a 4x4

Re: SidePipes

No brainer.....I think MOST of the 50 states REQUIRE them on a 50 merc.

If your truck never leaves the pavement, then they're fine. But, if you actually wheel the truck you're gonna have problems at some point. If you smash a nerf bar, it's not going to affect how the truck runs. If you smash an exhaust pipe in the middle of the wilderness, what are you going to do? Limp the truck home with an engine that breathes like you've got a banana in the tailpipe? Cut the pipe off?

Just my observations...

They will only look clean for 2 minutes, if that.

Re: SidePipes

I remember as a kid, I bugged my Dad to put those on the burb!

Now a days, I'm not to sure I'd want em. All it will take is one urban tumbleweed to make them look like hell.

Re: SidePipes

i think they would look cool with the burn shields that ole corvetts have!

prostreetC-10 08-13-2010 08:49 AM

Re: SidePipes

.....and it's funny those burn shields will get MORE than hot enough to burn. Guess it takes it from a 3rd to a 1st degree burn.

I have never seen a kit for our trucks. Patriot Exhaust makes the univeral kits
that you can mount and then figure out how to join with your headers.

I remember speaking to a vendor that specializes in stainless exhausts who
would weldup what you need. (stainlessworks.net I believe).

I have often thought about a side exhaust that would exit thru or at the bottom
of the fender and then run along the bottom of the door and bed. Maybe change
the rocker, cab corner and bed to have a reverse curve that the exhaust could
tuck next to.

I'm sorry but no! Stacy David had a Dodge on his show with some. There was nothing cool about it except the HEMI. Really left me scratching my head. Granted.....it's no 67-72 but I can't see them being cool on anything except an altered, pro-mod, funny car.....etc.
