How about posting a picture, that would help.

Also, check with Tony Smith. I am betting he has some good used ones.

John, maybe you haven't checked over at the "bad deals" board, but I don't think I would recommenced Tony until some issues are resolved.

I'm pretty sure jyaughn was looking for "new" trailing arms. Plus it would be a violation of forum rules for a non-subscribing member to post a WTB thread for used parts.

Re: trailing arms

earlyclassics sales a trailing arm reinforcement that welds to the top and bottom of these arms to make them more solid. I did this to mine and it made them alot more sturdy.

No you are incorrect. I have read about the issues. And I am merely suggesting to another member that he might want to consider buying good used parts instead of new, from a purely budget minded perspective.

In regards to Tony Smith, I have bought parts from Tony, he has walked me through problems on the phone, taking his own time to help me. In addition I have seen all the help he has provided to forum members here. He has helped hundreds of our members, check out his posts.

From my experiences Tony Smith is "good people". I still recomend him.

Re: trailing arms

I called these guys up and bought a pair from them, They have used NASCAR parts and what most people don't know is that most of the trailing arms used in NASCAR are just about identical to what is in our trucks.

I think the measurement is 51 1/4" from the front hole to the center pin where the rear end mounts
Our trucks do not have the center pin hole or at least mine does not so i just drilled the hole for the pin on mine.

When you do talk to them make sure that they give you a matched pair.

They cost me $ 50.00 each plus shipping and that sure beats the 300 plus for repops.

If you get a matched set one will have a track bar adjustment on it some like to use that in place of the factory style track bar I think it is a great idea but I opted to stay with the more factory look even though mine is far from factory. so in my case i got two the same without any track bar adjustment just be sure they are the same and look the same

Good luck if you go this route

I'm swapping mine out for a set of on arms. Mine are in perfect shape. I'll sell them to you if you want. I was going to put them up for sale this week. Let me know.

That's fine to think he's still an upstanding guy if you want to. Just "warning" the new guy to what has been going on here.
I miss Tony and his knowledge too. But, when you ignore problems with customers (you don't see him defending himself in the "bad deals" forum) it makes me wonder.
I personally won't deal with him. He's a "suspended" vendor. Draw you own conclusions.

Sorry I meant to type trailing arms off of my truck. $100 plus shipping if you want them.
