Torque value-Pitman Arm Nut??

As the title says, I am looking for the correct torque value to apply to the nut that holds the pitman arm to the steering box shaft. 1980 C10 SWB pickup, power steering. Thanks!

My 74 service manual says pitman arm to pitman arm shaft nut 180 lbs ft power steering, 140 lbs ft manual. Pitman to relay rod 60 lbs ft. I would think 1980 with be the same values.

Thanks! Now I gotta find a torque wrench that goes higher than my 150 ft/lb wrench does...

My torque wrench only went to 140 or 150. I pulled until it clicked, then pulled for one more grunt for good measure. :)

I just ran mine up to 150. That's pretty tight.

Re: Torque value-Pitman Arm Nut??

Quick note, I hit with my 1/2 impact and then checked it with a 3ft torque wrench. It took some more turning with the wrench to hit the 180ftlb mark.
