70's van column mounting posistion
I am ready to install the 70's van tilt column in my truck but have one question first. The question is where should it be located forward and backwards. How much of the straight tube should extend past the bottom edge of the dash before the taper of the column? Another way to look at it is how much of the column tube should extend into the engine compartment? I just want to make sure it is positioned correctly the first time for driving comfort. I don't have a steering wheel or know what wheel I will be using at this time.
Thanks, Derek |

I would adjust it and place it for your comfort and where you want it.

Well I fabbed up the bracket for and mounted my power brake booster yesterday. It looks like this is going to determine the position of the column because of a potential interference issue between the shift arm and the booster.
Thanks |

Make sure you post pics when you got it done.
