s-10 swap driveshaft help please
did the frame swap looks like i need a gm driveshaft about 58",i know gm made one, does anyone know of any gm car or truck that has one???

Head for your friendly local salvage yard with a tape measure. That's how I find mine. It doesn't even need to be a GM shaft as long as it has the right size U-joints.

Ok, your salvage yard is different from the one I usually use. Mine has the shafts pulled out and stored separately. They are in kind of a jumble, but if you have enough patience you can go through them and measure them all.
Are there any other yards you can go to? If not, second choice would be to get a shaft which is too long and have it shortened. This should be about a $50 job if you don't let the shop talk you into balancing, new joints, etc. Ray |
