03 2500hd ac click
 

i drive a 2003 chevy 2500hd for work, it has a tick when ever the ac is on. this tick doent change speed regardles of speed. what could this be. Engine is a 5.7(i think) with 4l80e(i think) this is all stock with 21k on it

Your engine should be a 6.0L, the 5.7L wasn't an option in a truck since 2000. Where do you hear the tick from, engine, dash, standing outside the truck? Our 2004 2500HD at work has a tick that comes from under the dash when the AC is on. It hasn't been bad enough to actually make me crawl under there to see whats going on though. I also had a bad vibration with the blower on anything above 2, so bad that on high you could feel it in the driver's seat. I pulled the blower, which just twists in-no tools and found some business cards stuck in the blower wheel.

from inside the truck, it just ticks even with blower on hi it is the same tick...tick...tick

It's possible one of the blend door actuators is the source of the ticking. There is a similar thread about these in the 88-98 forum.
