has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?
 

just got a smoking deal on a set of 03 crew cab seats and wanted to see if there is a thread about putting them in a 73-87 truck on here. i know there was one but i cant find it.

I put a set of late 90's seats in mine, very close to the same seat. I also put a set of 04 seats in my 68.

The 90's ones I put in my 85 I pulled all the OEM slide track stuff off and scratch built a frame from 1" square tubing.

The 04's that I put in the 68 I used the OEM tracks and mounts, and just drilled new holes in the floor. I had a shim up the center mounts to make everything level, but it was pretty easy.

i put the 99+ silverado seats in my 87.. used the 87 slider with some 1.5 square tubing stock and made my own brackets... still havent came across a center console but the fit is great... im 6'6" and got plenty of room. I dont have the recline feature but its still good.

I have diagrams for a mounting bracket. You can mount any seats you want. The frame bolts directly to the stock locations. Let me dig it up.

I don't know if this will help or not. I put a 60/40 bench seat from a 92 CC in my 79. HERE is a link with pick of how I mounted it.

are they power, because i have absolute perfect pair of graphite,i recently test fit, not even close, lap touched the steering wheel,please post pics and process, b4 i sell my seats

I put early 90's Ford windstar seats in mine. Think outside the box. However, I am now looking for low back leather buckets. Lots of mini vans had nice seats.

PO put a set of '05 seats in mine. They used a couple of pieces of flat strap steel across the floor to mount them in the front. distance to the pedals and wheel is good (I'm 6'2") but the seats sit a bit high, so I'm looking out the top of the windshield even with my usual "detroit lean" seating position.

Back seat isn't attached to the floor yet, but they did put a strap steal brace across the back of the cab that the rear seat is mounted to. I'm considering replacing it with either stock seat or doing a pair of the same front buckets in the back (because I wan't shoulder restraints for my kids in the back).

the way i want them to sit i dont see how it would work without cutting the floor out unless you dont need the recline option and the oem rails. wich im using and i dont mind cutting the floor. by cutting the floor in the front i should gain some more leg room in the rear anyways.

ya im 6' 2'' and i set the seats in the truck and i was way up in the air... not going do it for me. im going to try to cut as much as i can out of the floor. im going to try to get them to sit 4 to 5'' lower

Same seat I've got. I'll post those pics in the morning. Ended up working later than expected and then had to hassle with some racoons so I didn't get out to the truck with the camera.

OK, here ya go. I didn't do it and probably would have cut the floor if I had, but it's not really all that bad, especially since I generally drive in a more reclined seating position. Oh yah, I will take responsibility for the Kustom recline lever though...
