Spark plug question
 

I have a 2008 4.8 with 30,000.
Bought it with 11,000.
Pulled the plugs today.
Is the "needle point" really how theplugs look ?
Tough to see, but the electrode spot is a small white dot.

What was the reason for removing the plugs? Do you have a drivability problem?

only put back in the factory ac delco plugs... hell put those back in. they are still good to go.

AC-Delco is not the only quality spark plug manufacturer! Half of the OEM plugs in GM trucks are made by NGK. So why whouldnt a platinum/iridium spark plug from NGK do same job & still last 100K?

AC-Delco is to busy making replacment 'high profit" spark plugs for our trucks than keeping up with demand on the production line.

Dont believe all the "dealer rhetoric" you have been taught.

whats with the attitude? I didnt say there were the only good maker, but if they wernt the best plug to put in it, gm wouldnt be using them. I am a firm believer in using OEM parts... Motorcraft for ford, delco for GM. my 2000 trans am made less hp with ngk plugs then the stock delcos. on the dyno. that damn good proof right there... there was someone else on the forum had same results with his lsx car. I will always spew dealer rhetoric......because I work at a chevy dealer.

ac-delco platinum/iridium is all i install in these trucks i've installed other brand and have had customers coming back. i can get ac-delco platinums for about 2.99 a piece

btw i'd put a stad of anti seige on those before i put them back in

I had a skip and some slight hesitation.
Swapped out the plugs and it appears to be gone.

GM contracts NGK to build alot of the spark plugs put in the 4.8,5.3,6.0.

AC P/N 25171803

NGK P/N 12567759

These are both OEM part numbers.

How much HP did you lose with the NGKs?

Dang David. I just recently bought some for my 97 at O'Riellys for $6.50 each, listed for $11+. That's almost twice your price. Yes they are designed to last 100,000 miles but I got sick at that price.
Too many people have said the same thing about running a different plug than AC and having issues for me to consider running anything else.
