Tailight ideas?
Hello all,

Re: Tailight ideas?
I've thought about looking into one of those brake/turn signal strips that run under the tailgate. I mostly see them on late model trucks and they're usually only half way working, but seems like a good "hidden" light set up

Here's what I did. It's out of a 1969 Chevy wagon. Simple, no body work other than drilling a couple of holes. Maybe not for everyone, but it works for me!

Re: Tailight ideas?
Thanks for the replys! I actually bought one of those strips and was thinking about using that as well. Just not sure yet how the tailgate will open and close without breaking it. I need to try it

Re: Tailight ideas?
I had thought about running these under the tail gate.

Re: Tailight ideas?
What's the outside diameter of those taillight lenses? What year vehicle are they out of... wanted to do the same thing with a set of amber ones for my signal lights!
Cheers, Ted. |
Re: Tailight ideas?

Re: Tailight ideas?
be careful about ordering the 37 ford lights online. Im going to use them as well. One of the lights has a clear lens ontop of the housing. That light was used as a license plate light and is only one housing. Im ordering seperate ones with no clear lens. just an FYI.

48 ford tails molded into the rear fender...

Re: Tailight ideas?
I think the pictures of taillights are neat but tha AD has a rounder fender than the 55-up
|
Re: Tailight ideas?
I know, thought it might give someone an idea. The same thing could be done to an AD with a rounder light like a 50 pontiac and it could look really nice.

Here is a thread from the 60-66 forum on this same topic http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=tail
I used '64 Impala Tailights on my '65 C10. Look at Post #4 on my build thread for details... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=3528171 |
Re: Tailight ideas?
I'm going to try my hand at frenching in some Caddy lights on my 53,I know it's overdone but I like them. the pontiac is a good choice, the 64 car that Lakeroadster did is really neat It's going to be hard to do something New
