Gmc 2003 sierra truck

I have a gmc 2003 sierra truck and i went to the gas station and pushed the button to put the mileage back to 0 my message on my dash is saying tot. Parts.
Does anyone know what is wrong with it and what can i do to correct it so i can have my miles on a tank. There is also other readings that come up and it looks like a foreign language to me.
I am puzzled and can not find anyone that has had this problem. Can someone out there please help me?
