Breaks and cab bolt question
 

I have a 1980 K10 that I just tore down, and am putting it back together. I was trying to bleed my breaks today, and the rear ones where not doing anything, so I got one of the rear drums off, and went to take the other one off and it will not release from the axle. What is the best way of removing a stuck break drum? I tried to use a hammer, and even a 10lb sledge hammer, and still nothing. Will applying heat work?

Where can I buy new cab bolts? I had to cut one when I removed the cab, and now I need a new one, but I would like to be able to replace all of the bolts (Core support, Cab, and bed) Does anyone know where to get new ones?

Just back off the adjuster, you have to do it from the back side. The drum gets hung up on the ridge thats formed. If you mean to the the drum to the hub flange... then a hammer and try to get some wd40 on it or somthing. Had to do that on my dads F150 a couple years back. Took half hour each side to finally get them off. As for the cab bolts... not a clue. I would try lmc or cpa, maybe even the dealer... but be prepaired to put those cab bolts back in with one arm and one leg... because thats what it will cost you. lol,

Ive had this problem many times. If you cant get the adjuster to loosen it up. The only thing i got to work for me was to take a sledge to it and beat them like they owed me money. You might have to buy a new 1 after this. Like gmcchris, it took me about the same amount of time on ea side. You should be sore the next day too..

I will have to try that. One of them came off just barely hitting it with a hammer, but this stuck one wont budge.

I wish I had all the bolts, I had to cut one because the thing is screws into that is in the channel was spinning and so the only way to get it off was to cut it. My parts truck has the same problem on both of the rear bolts. Plus my parts truck is rusted pretty good, so that doesn't help the bolts. Some of my bolts are not in good shape so I would like to replace them.

GM sells cab bolts but they are slightly different from originals, The core support bolts which are longer I got grade 8 bolts at Home Depot to match.
