Re: looking at a 78 jimmy
Check out underneath where the drivers seat belt bolts to the floor. Also the condition of the cab supports and pans. It looks like it is in pretty good shape.

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy
thanks never seen like that design wondering if it factory paint....little rust on back window.................he says.........136k on the body, less than 10k on the 350 engine, auto with locking hubs (not full time 4x4). New parts in the last year, rad, Holley Truck Avenger carb, new dual exhaust, new rear window crank and new 31" tires. Front seats need attention, but have original seat. A bit of rust on tailgate/window edge. $3500.00 Certified delivered.......asked for more pics

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy
Not bad. The rust in the pics does not look all that bad. just hard surface rust maybe. Take a couple of hours, buy new weatherstripping, sand and IMO put bedliner along the bottom. Spray on or roll on. :)

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy
these were quite pop up here as snow plows(salt),and have become quite rare now .mounts need a fixin .i don't see them that often round here and liked it.looks original paint and not plowed with, bumpers/lines real staight and real steel/chrome.And the push bar holy cow, were am i gona put my lights?only put four of six on the brown one.i was wondering a bed liner spray yea for the floor back, hadn't thought of underside......he's called on it's way he said here by 3pm

Hopefully the paintjob isn't hiding bondo over rust in the rockers and the other usual rust spots. If it's solid, you did OK - looks good. |
Re: looking at a 78 jimmy
Havn't had much time with it yet.no bondo yet.And it from/spent it's life up here.Guy i got it from bought it from a couple devorceing, hardly drove it in the two years he had it he said.He drove it about three hours to get it here.then i drove him back home........
