700R4 Speedo Cable

I just put a 700R4 into my 1960 C10 and need to find a speedometer cable that will work with the factory cluster. Has anybody done this? Thanks.

I'm not sure what year your tranny is, but mine is an 88 and had the electronic speed sensor instead of a cable, so I purchased a speedo gear kit from Bowtie Overdrives http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata....php?ITEMID=14

It worked on my 66 but my needle is broke on my speedo... I'm not sure if the cables are the same as a 60 but maybe that helps some...

If your 700 is already set up for a mechanical speedo drive and your stock 60 cable is too short, you can use a cable for a 4WD and it will be more than long enough. A better solution would be to route a piece of stiff wire from the transmission to the speedo, avoiding any sharp bends. Measure the wire and this will tell you the exact cable length you need.

If your 700 is set up for an electric speedo, you will need the mechanical drive conversion parts in addition to the cable.

I have the mechanical speedo on my transmission. I also do not have the factory speedo cable so I'm not sure if it would be long enough. I just thought somebody on here may have done this before.
