What to use with LS engine install for water temp gauge?
Ok I'm putting a 6.0 in my 69' truck and want to use the factory gauges. So what sending unit should I use and where are you guys installing them? I have a 6.0 in a mustang now with an electric temp gauge in the head that took a metric to standard adapter from auto meter.

Best bet is to use the sending unit that matches the factory gauges. As you found out with your other swap it might need an adapter. I am running a LSX block in my 71 with a Stewart water pump for Wegner - fortunately the water pump is SAE and I used the original sending unit that was in the original 307 many moons ago.
Are you keeping the factory fuel injection? If so, someone should be able to hook up a computer to compare what the computer is reading vs. your factory gauge, good insurance that everything is correct. |

they make a metric sending unit for the ls head. No adapter needed. I'd try auto meters website. Pretty sure that's what I've been running.
