Putting 250 L6 with Camaro subframe
Anybody done this? Not sure how to get the correct engine mounts for it to sit in there correctly.

Re: Putting 250 L6 with Camaro subframe
You need to lay it out like any other engine. Get the clip set according to the cab and front fender locations. This will set the radiator and bracket location. Drop in the block with the pan on to check rough fan, back of block and pan to crossmember clearance or interference. I am going to guess fan and firewall will be ok, pan may be the issue, you might be into a custom shape and pickup configuration. Steering and exhaust should be ok. If fan is an issue then look a threads for using electric fans to gain clearance. Engine mounts will probably require offset plates like the s-10 guys use when changing from v-6 to v-8. Sometimes you just have to dive in and scratch your head a little bit!

camaro's came with 250 engines so it shouldn't be a problem. setting up a engine means carb level, adjusting engine to clear steering left/right. all your doing is essentally building a bridge from frame to engine. using cardboard and tape to design mounts make life simple.
