plastic flywheel cover.

The little plastic cover on the flywheel hits the flywheel on my truck.

I had some work done and we noticed it was loose (the cover) so we bolted it back up and when we started the truck we heard it loud and clear, loud rattling.

When I took the cover back loose we could see where the wheel had been rubbing it so we left it loose so it wouldn't touch but it would still mostly protect the flywheel.

Is this a standard part or do I need to have some specifics about my engine/tranny to order it? I know it's a 350 smb with a th350 transmission but year and what not I'm unsure of still.

I think the plastic ones came on newer trans they should be steal. I think the 350 and 400 interchange The plastic ones warp from heat and oil

Finding a decent steel cover for the Th-350 should not be difficult as they were used in a lot of years. The plastic ones seem to warp over time!

The TH-350 and the TH-400 covers are different. Here is a pic for reference.
(The TH-350 is the top cover and the TH-400 is the bottom cover).
