Taper Bearing Adjustment

I found some later model hubs for my 1960 Sub and have new bearings ordered. I know that adjusting tapered bearings are a little different than ball bearings but don't know the correct procedure. Help?

It will depend on the application to how they are set up, some applications use shims to set the pre load, others are brought to zero and then backed off a bit (usually to the next cotter pin slot) and use a cotter pin to maintain pre load, don't forget to torue it down to at least 100ft # to start if you installed new bearing races, and then back it off, this will insure that the races are seated fully
