Converting this partial 4wd to 2wd..

This guy is selling this Blazer that is originally a 4wd but has a 2wd transmission in it. I'm really looking for a bagged 2wd and I'm wondering if this Blazer would be worth it economically to fully convert since the transmission has been changed. He's asking 3K so I don't know if it'd be better to just wait and pay the premium on a "real" 2wd or just get this one and work on it. Any suggestions?

Here are a couple pics:

If you think the body is worth it, then go for it! Porterbuilt makes a whole new front suspension setup that will bolt on to the 4wd frame to make it 2wd.

If you plan to make a custom 2wd and don't care about having a factory 2wd, converting is the way to go. I would take a hard look at the body on that rig though. It seems to have a fair amount of rust and body damage. I'm not sure what the supply is in your area, but for $3K, you can probably find a tub in better condition. Converting the transmission is cheaper than fixing rust.

Awesome, thanks for the replies fellas. I think I'm going to wait for one in better condition. The cost to fix the body wouldn't be worth it considering the asking price.

Look like bullet holes in that front fender.
